There’s a competitive streak
in many of us, even when it comes
to pushing toy soldiers around on
the tabletop. What is there to do
if you want to test your mettle (or
metal, as the case may be) against
your fellow hobbyists? Well, you could
always jump on the Games Workshop
Tournament Circuit for 2008!
After a successful introduction
last year, we have again teamed up
with the organizers of some of the
best tournaments across the country
for this year’s Circuit. Once
again, the Circuit gives generals
a chance to connect their personal
efforts at these great events throughout
the year, building on their successes
in Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, and
The Lord of The Rings.
The Circuit for 2008
For 2008, the first event is in April
and the final event is in November.
Throughout the year you will be able
to play in some of the coolest, wackiest,
and fiercest competitions that are
run in the U.S. We are lucky enough
to have both Adepticon (Chicago, IL)
and The Necronomicon (Orlando, FL)
return to the Circuit this year and
are proud to announce that we have
been joined by the following well
respected events: Quake City Rumble
(San Francisco, CA), The Alamo (San
Antonio, TX), and The Big Waaagh!
(Memphis, TN) featuring the Hillbilly
Invitational.
It is important to note that each
event continues to be it’s own
discrete affair, with it’s own
winners and prizes and trophies. Individual
tournaments will retain their own
rules and flavor that regular attendees
have come to know and love. Each event
has it’s own spin on things,
and we’re big fans of the diversity
and enthusiasm supplied by each organizing
team. Being a part of the GW Tournament
circuit just means that if you happen
to play at a few of these events,
you could be eligible for extra prizes,
fame, and glory!
For a breakdown of how the Circuit
will work this year, see the Tournament
Circuit Rules Page.

The Hall of Champions
The Hall of Champions will be an ongoing
part of the Games Workshop Tournament
Circuit. It is where we list each
year's winners and provide profiles
of these champion gamers. View the
Hall
of Champions here.
Conclusion
We've listened to feedback from last
year's players, forged partnerships
with a number of great independent
tournaments and are currently working
to make our own GTs the best ever.
This year's Tournament Circuit will
be filled with a wide range excellent
events and 2008 should be a great
year for competitive Games Workshop
Gaming in the US. We look forward
to seeing you throughout the season. |
