Ticket Prices and Accommodations Update

We’re very excited about the Grand Tournament Season for 2008! There are a few changes to locations that you need to know about, and the odd change to price. We try to explain the reasons behind the changes as we go through.

All Grand Tournament Tickets are on sale from May 5, 2008.

Las Vegas Grand Tournament September 5-7, 2008
The Las Vegas Grand Tournament will be held at Treasure Island Resort & Casino, located on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Full hotel details can be found here.
We have the following quantity of tickets for each game system:

• Warhammer 40,000 – 130 tickets
• Warhammer – 100 tickets
• The Lord of The Rings – 20 tickets

Tickets will be $150. This is an increase of $25 on last year’s event. This increase has unfortunately had to be added to go some way toward covering the significantly higher “catering bill” that is apparently the only way to “rent” convention space in a Las Vegas hotel. The good news is that this increased cost to you will be offset by the provision of up to three meals over the weekend. Full details are still being worked out to ensure you get the best deal possible. Keep an eye on this site for details as they become available.

We also have a block of rooms put aside for you folks to book on the Friday and Saturday night. The Room Rate is $199 for single or double occupancy. We will provide a promotional code as soon as we can, but if you are booking in the meantime you can call Treasure Island Hotel Reservation Department toll-free at 1-888-503-8999. In order to get the group rate you MUST identify to the Hotel that you are participating in the Games Workshop Grand Tournament Event.

IMPORTANT NOTE
We are currently in discussions with Treasure Island to ensure that our Room Block Rate is the same or lower than that advertised on the Treasure Island site. If you do find cheaper rooms at Treasure Island then by all means book them. All we ask is that you contact us at chrisg@games-workshop.com an let us know that you have booked. We can still count your booking against our room block and we stand less of a chance of losing anything on the whole deal.

Chicago Grand Tournament October 3-5, 2008
The Chicago Grand Tournament will be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, IL. It is now the site of Adepticon, and the site of site many of our former Chicago GTs (back when it was the Holiday Inn). Full hotel details can be found here.

We have the following quantity of tickets for each game system:
• Warhammer 40,000 – 130 tickets
• Warhammer – 100 tickets
• The Lord of The Rings – 20 tickets

Tickets will be $125. This is the same as last year, but we should be able to offer more in the way of Friday evening activities. Keep an eye on this site for details as they become available.

We also have a block of rooms put aside for you folks to book on the Friday and Saturday night. The Room Rate is $139 for single or double occupancy. We will provide a promotional code as soon as we can, but if you are booking in the meantime you can call Crowne Plaza Hotel Reservation Department toll-free at 1-800-972-2494. In order to get the group rate you MUST identify to the Hotel that you are participating in the Games Workshop Grand Tournament Event.

Baltimore Grand Tournament November 14-16, 2008
The Baltimore Grand Tournament will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center, located in downtown Baltimore. Full Convention Center details can be found here.
We have the following quantity of tickets for each game system:

• Warhammer 40,000 – 180 tickets
• Warhammer – 130 tickets
• The Lord of The Rings – 40 tickets

Tickets will be $125. This is the same as lat year. We’ll be able to offer the same (or hopefully more) activities for the Friday afternoon/evening! Keep an eye on this site for details as they become available.

Note: This date has changed from the one first announced because the Convention Center had planned to charge us twice as much for half the space if we moved to the Ballroom (with carpet), something we only discovered in early April. Rather than charge four times as much for the tickets we decided to move the event back into Hall D and therefore were required to change the date. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We also have a block of rooms put aside for you folks to book on the Friday and Saturday night at the Days Inn (only one and a half blocks from the Baltimore Convention Center). The Room Rate is $129 for single or double occupancy. We will provide a promotional code as soon as we can, but if you are booking in the meantime you can call Days Inn Reservation Department at 410-576-1000.
