The
thunderous roar of the battlefield
returns in full force in 2007!
Games Workshop, working in conjunction
with organizers of select independent
events across the country, is
proud to present the 2007 Tournament
Series. This system will chronicle
the exploits of generals around
the country and crown a champion
at the end of the year for Warhammer,
The Lord of The Rings, and Warhammer
40,000!
The Circuit
Starting in 2007, the tournament season will run from
January to November each year. This circuit will
be a collection of selected events that players can
participate in to score points toward the national
rankings. These events will be premier gaming events
around the country that will feature great armies,
gorgeous terrain, and exciting activities.
Each tournament will continue
to be a discrete event as well
as part of the circuit. Thus,
if you are not interested in
the overall rankings and simply
want to go out and have a great
time over a weekend, the system
provides for that and allows
you to be competitive at individual
events! The organizers of each
event will set the rules, the
points values for the armies,
the schedule, and the like.
For the 1st year, we are keeping
the circuit somewhat small (probably
8-10 events). Though as we go,
rest assured that this system
is likely to grow if feedback
and attendance are promising.
For a complete list of event,
see the events
calendar page.

How
It All Works
Each player participating in this tournament system
must begin by obtaining a Player ID number. To
get yours, call Direct Services (1-800-394-GAME)
or attend a GW-run event (anyone participating
in one of the independent events will have to call
Direct Services prior to the show to have an ID
number assigned).
Once you have your ID,
register for the tournament
as normal. When you check
into the event, the organizers
will record your Player ID
so that you can be awarded
your points.
At the end of the tournament,
the top players will score
points based on how they
finish overall in the event.
There will be a standard
set of points available at
most shows; however, the
distribution of those points
will differ from show to
show. Organizers of each
event will post the points
breakdown prior to the tournament.

There
will also be a set number of
bonus points awarded at each
event for the winners of Best
Painted Army, Best General, Best
Sportsman, and similar honors.
The Hall of Champions
After the tournament, the organizers will submit all
the players’ information and their point totals
to Games Workshop, and results will be tracked on
the GW web site. That way you can see how you are
doing in the overall rankings! This section of the
site will list your name, Player ID, and your total
points for each game system. Click

Hall of Champions.
Fully Supported
The
2007 Tournament Circuit will
be fully supported by Games
Workshop with web and White
Dwarf advertising, great prizes,
full judging, and more! At GW-run
events, look for the return
of the Pub Quiz, side events,
mini-tournaments, and more.
We want the experience you get
at one of these to be top notch,
so we are pulling out all the
stops!
In Conclusion
2007 is shaping up to be a great year for Games Workshop
tournament fans! We want to hear feedback from you
on what you would like to see at our events. Feel
free to contact the Community Department at GWTournaments@games-workshop.com with
your questions or comments. Be sure to keep your
eyes on the GW web site and these Community Pages
for all the latest news and information. We look
